A few days ago we harvested our "strange crops" for the year, these where Jerusalem Artichoke's and Yacon. I am glad to say out of 3 tubers, the Jerusalem artichokes did rather well, 6lb in total, I know it may not sound a lot, but it's better than a kick in the butt.
The Yacon didn't do so well, only a few small tubers, but we have plenty of rhizomes for next year.
In other news, we have been rather battered by storm Angus the past couple of days, it's still rather blustery now so we haven't had too much chance of going over to the plot to survey damage. We have our fingers crossed that there isn't any, but thinking of our greenhouse and the state it was in, I am thinking we will have some more missing panels.
